# Permissions

AiOdds access is controlled by account credentials and product subscription.

## Credentials

### API Credentials

AiOdds provides a username and secret for API and WebSocket access.

| Parameter | Description                                                                                    |
| --------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `user`    | Identifies your AiOdds account.                                                                |
| `secret` | Authenticates requests to AiOdds APIs and WebSocket feeds. Treat it as a sensitive credential. |

{% hint style="warning" %}
Keep credentials server-side. Do not expose them in browser clients, public apps, mobile apps, or source control.
{% endhint %}

### IP allowlisting

Access may be restricted to approved IP addresses.

If requests fail with an invalid IP address status, confirm the source IP used by your server and contact [AiOdds support](/support.md).

## Product subscription

Your account controls which products, sports, markets, and feeds you can access.

If a request looks valid but returns no data or fails permission checks, confirm:

* The product is included in your subscription.
* The sport or market is included in your coverage.
* The endpoint belongs to the documentation space for your product.
* Your production and test environments use the correct credentials.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://developer.aiodds.com/get-started/permissions.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
